At least once a week there is an article or at least something on the main page of MMOSITE that says “WoW Killer”. I wish people would stop talking about it, it’s mostly the kids who never played WoW and don’t pay to play any MMO, the ones on the forums who are always crying about new games like “I HOPE IT ISNT P2P” “PLZ BE F2P WITH NO CASH SHOP BECUZ I CANT PAY AND I DONT WANT PPL BEING BETTER THAN ME”. Get jobs kids, games can’t live on no revenue and just you using up all their server bandwidth and GM/Dev time. Time = money, pay them homo’s.
WoW will never be killed, it’s too polished, to developed, Blizzard is smart, every patch they balance skills, add new items, entire raids, all kinds of crap, in EVERY patch to keep people interested. Other games release their game, and patches all they do is fix bugs, nothing new, they just let it sit there and try to make money off it. There will never be a WoW killer, at least not from anyone but Blizzard.
Here’s the article;

If gamers are transformed to NPC, and game publisher are transformed to Game Player, I think gamers are currently giving the holy quest to game publisher: Kill WoW! Kill the ruler of current MMORPG market world, and you will be well rewarded with… gold.
Well some people getting disturbed by this terms: WoW killer. And they getting sick of how people always comparing new game with the king of its genre. I have a bad news for them: people will continue using it until a real challenger of WoW is coming!
The terms WoW killer, doesn’t mean that a game will come and make WoW loose all their players and die! Please don’t get it wrong. But yes this term can be used as a reference that a game should succeed WoW’s throne! So I am not really agree with any opinions saying that we should stop using this term “WoW killer”! When you said to your friend something like, “Come on let me know, you’re killing me here.” Does this mean that your friend is actually killing you??? No, he / she’s not. So, it’s just a term. What do you expect us to use? WoW challenger? WoW contender? No, let’s just use the term: WoW killer. It’s a perfect term.
In marketing world, a category killer always become the holy quest of the industry players. And almost in every industry, there is one ‘king’ of category that needed to be ‘killed’ as they are reign as the category killer. So WoW killer term is not the first term used in ‘category killer quest’. It’s common, although in this case, WoW still can not be considered as category killer cuz there are still many games can achieve significant profit in MMOG industry. Anyway, once there is a good product, people will expect you to overcome that product on your new one, so that they have reason to buy yours. The king will always be the new standard. So face it, WoW killer will always be the holy quest that given by gamers to all game publishers.
